In Switzerland, NorthC Datacenters operates data centers in Biel (Bern), Münchenstein (Basel) and Winterthur (Zurich). The locations are strategically positioned to support both local and international companies. NorthC Datacenters Switzerland had set itself an ambitious goal. They wanted to expand their data centers in Münchenstein near Basel, in Biel and Winterthur into one of the most powerful and modern infrastructures in Switzerland. With the support of Primetrack AG and Cisco products, a pioneering project was initiated to raise the data centers to the desired new performance level and to be able to offer customers a stable data connection of 400 gigabits in addition to maximum data security.

Challenge
Goal: Modernization of the core router structure
With the continuously growing demand for computing power - driven by modern, data-intensive applications, quantum computing, ITC and AI - NorthC's data centers were faced with the task of further developing their infrastructure so that it can continue to optimally meet the increasing demands of customers and is also equipped for future challenges in the course of the digital transformation. The aim was to modernize the core router structure and create 400 gigabit connectivity that would enable seamless connections between the sites and a stable connection to the internet. NorthC wanted to gain a clear competitive advantage, meet customer requirements in the best possible way and position itself as a leading provider in Switzerland.
Solution
The Way: Project support with the expertise of Primetrack
Primetrack AG was called in to provide technical project support and advice in order to identify the appropriate technologies and create a future-oriented network structure. There were only a few providers whose products could meet the specific high requirements of this project. Together, NorthC and Primetrack selected the latest technology from Cisco to meet the required performance and scalability. The result: high-performance 400 Gigabit connectivity linking all NorthC data centers in Switzerland to each other and to the Internet. Thanks to Primetrack's expertise, NorthC was able to create an innovative and secure infrastructure that has the potential for further development towards Europe-wide networking.
